Conversations in Silence

“Jeevan ki aapa dhapi mein, kab waqt mila , kuch der kahi par baith yeh soch sakoo ….. Jo kiya, kaha, maan usmein kya bura bhalaa”

(In the hustle and bustle of life, when did I find any time That I could sit at some place for a while and think….of what is good or bad in what I did, said, assumed)

These lines from a poem by Dr Harivanshrai Bachchan perfectly encapsulated the intent of Sandbox ‘Conversations in Silence’ led by Manish Arneja. This event brought 20+ members to come in on a bright and early Sunday morning, and walk through the Mac Ritchie reservoir park !

The Sandbox started with a quick warmup, breathing practices to calm the mind and context setting by Manish followed by a silent guided walk, during which our members got a chance to reflect and introspect while enjoying the sights and sounds of the woodland. Everyone walked at their own pace, but also instinctively looked out for each other and kept together as a pack. At the end of the session, the group got back together and we heard feedback from a number of members on their observations and learnings. Members got the chance to - be in the present moment , introspect and connect with nature at deeper levels. There was one consistent feedback being that, there is value in taking time out to just be with oneself. Post event feedback was overwhelmingly positive and there is demand for an “encore” of silence - Take a bow Manish Arneja, Bhawna Gandhi and the core Sandbox team!
