About the Speakers:

Joe Tofield

With almost 12 years' experience in the Asia Pacific region, Joe has worked across London, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Singapore, accumulating a wealth of expertise in management, operations, and Learning & Development (L&D). He led the expansion of the British Council’s Professional Development Centre (PDC) across the region, tailoring learning solutions for prominent multinational corporations such as DBS and JP Morgan.
As Senior Regional Manager for the International Baccalaureate’s Professional Development Delivery arm, Joe oversaw training for over 1,300 schools across Asia Pacific, also spearheading the launch of new training products and driving global strategy and change initiatives. In May 2023, Joe founded Lingua Learn (Singapore), offering bespoke language and L&D solutions to companies and is an advocate for driving high levels of employee engagement.
He has served on board of the British Chamber of Commerce, chaired the Leadership and Talent Development Committee, and earned two annual business awards for his leadership in D&I.

Steve Mcarthur

Originally from Balquhidder, Scotland, Steve has over 20 years of experience living in Asia, a background in banking, operations leadership and as an HR strategic business partner he now resides in Singapore with his partner and beloved Pekingese dog, Zoey.

Throughout his career, Steve has held senior roles with CXA Group, Mercer, and Microsoft, earning accolades such as Microsoft’s Outstanding Employee Award. Transitioning into counselling psychology he focuses on enhancing mental health and wellbeing, with expertise in areas such as suicide prevention and menopause support, and provides consultation on employee benefits and wellbeing strategies.

In addition to his professional work, Steve volunteers his time at GEM New Start Centre and mentors individuals with autism, helping them achieve personal growth and employment opportunities. With a dedication to improving the lives of others, Steve offers a unique blend of psychological insight and business acumen in his practice.
